Hugo & Billy's op

Hugo & Billy were recently desexed & have recovered very well. They are still away from the girls for a few more weeks as they can still do some damage but will be thrilled to get back to snuggling up with their girlfriends very soon.

Hugo & Lily will be paired. Billy will probably be paired with Lucky.

Stitches were used after their operation and usually boys will bite the stitches off by themselves which is fine but Hugo had left one in. We spent quite a bit of time yesterday poking around downstairs getting the last stitch out. The stitch was quite a toughy to get out but with very delicate hands, it was removed successfully & without too much stress involved - us, not Hugo (he was fine!!).

Princess has arrived

On the same day that Sammy passed away, Princess came to stay.

Princess is a very loved bunny from a family that have moved to Tasmania to live. She is a big white lop who is the most gorgeous and friendly bunnies I have ever met. She loves to cuddle & sit on your lap for hours being patted. Princess is one of those dream bunnies that everyone would want as a companion and we are very pleased that she has come to live with us.

Her family are missing her and called to see how she was doing. Princess is living in our bedroom but in an enclosure as Peanut & Lavender live in the same room. Peanut showed quite a bit of interest and had been going over regularly to visit. Lavender has been showing extra special attention to Peanut giving him loads of kisses (I think she's jealous!!). Unfortunately for Peanut, he poked his nose into Princess's living quarters a bit too enthusiastically this morning & copped the wrath of the new bunny. He's okay but sulked off to his box to get over the shock. Princess's enclosure has now been hoisted up a little higher off the ground so no-one gets into trouble again! (she's now perched high in her castle to watch over her subjects).

However, saying that, I have upgraded the status to King Peanut & Queen Lavender (so they don't feel like they're of any less importance).

Sammy didn't make it

Unfortunately, our little Sammy passed away on Thursday night. He was perfectly happy on Wednesday morning but went downhill again by the evening. He was given medication & fluids but didn't get any better and by Thursday evening he went into fits. It was horrible & I took him inside not expecting him to survive very long so I wanted to just comfort him but he was in immense pain so was rushed off to the vet. He had a seizure at the vets & unfortunately nothing could be done but to relieve him from his pain. It was very sad as he was the first bunny we have lost. He was a gorgeous little guy who loved to be picked up and cuddled.

We miss him terribly.
